Laguna Beach has become one of my favorite places to paint. Its dramatic coastline, changing light, cottages, beaches and colorful details continually offer new subjects for plein air painting.

I return again and again because no two days are quite the same.

This is a piece I've painted on the top tier of stairs going down to the Moss Cove beach in Laguna. It is just one of the many coves in Laguna to explore. The day I painted this the beach was under water, crashing waves, high tide.
